There once was a pool

working in the dirt with daddy! the pool is totally buried now and the irrigation is set for the lawn, but this is the latest picture i have of our work.

the zaca fire

this fire has been burning in the back country since 4th of july and is the close to being the second largest in california history. i almost got in a car accident when i saw these plumes of smoke. they really were spectacular.

jackhammers pounding, sledge hammers swinging, jigsaws buzzing and my ears ringing with the sound of a new back yard a coming. john and helpers broke the sledge hammer and the jackhammer within 10 minutes of each other; i guess they decided they were done. our backyard is looking like post WWII europe; but our marshell plan is in the works. i am already feeling releaved with the pool gone, and imagining the green grass and play zone for the kids.
